ICT issues notice ordering Hasina to surrender by 7-day

Published: 17 June 2025, 3:27:55

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has issued a notice ordering to surrender ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan before it in crimes against humanity case.

The tribunal registrar issued this notice on Tuesday and it was published in two newspapers.

If both failed to appear within seven days, the trial procedure will continue in their absence as per rules.

Earlier on Monday, the ICT issued a directive ordering to publish notices in newspapers summoning Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan.

On June 1, the tribunal had issued arrest warrants against Hasina and Kamal. It also ordered the appearance of former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, another accused in the case, and directed law enforcement agencies to report on progress in executing the arrest orders.

The case involves allegations of crimes against humanity committed during the political turmoil of July and August 2024.
