Children undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute in Dhaka received a special visit on Eid-ul-Azha, as Algerian Ambassador Abdel Wahab Saidani brought gifts and festive cheer to brighten their day.

The Ambassador, joined by his three children and a delegation from the Algerian Embassy, spent time at the hospital as part of a goodwill initiative aimed at supporting young patients during the religious festival.

Upon arrival, Saidani and his team were warmly welcomed by Professor Dr Md Mahbubul Haque, Director of Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute.

During a special Eid event organized at the hospital, the Ambassador and his children personally handed out 271 gift packs to the children. Each pack contained useful and comforting items intended to uplift the spirits of young patients during the holiday.

The visit was met with heartfelt appreciation from hospital staff and the families of the children. Many expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, which brought smiles to faces on what can otherwise be a difficult day for those in hospital care.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Saidani expressed his joy at being able to celebrate Eid alongside the children.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to spend time with these brave young patients on Eid-ul-Azha. Moments like these remind us of the importance of compassion and community,” he said.

The Ambassador also reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to deepening ties with Bangladesh in the field of healthcare. He expressed particular interest in exploring avenues for future cooperation with Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute.

“Algeria values international collaboration in improving healthcare services, especially for children. We look forward to building stronger connections with Bangladesh in this important sector,” Saidani noted.

The visit added a festive and heartwarming dimension to the hospital’s Eid celebrations, demonstrating how small gestures of kindness can make a meaningful impact on the lives of young patients.
