Staff observe one-hour work abstention at Secretariat

Bangladesh Secretariat staff of all ministries observed a one-hour work abstention on Thursday morning demanding withdrawal of the newly issued Government Service (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.
The protest held from 10AM to 11AM.
Employees of all ministries thronged at the library of public administration at 10AM and later observed the work abstention programme.
Badiul Kabir, President of the Bangladesh Secretariat Officers and Employees Coordinated Council and Co-Chairman of the Oikya Forum, said, “The work abstention was successfully observed in various ministries and divisions as per our call.”
Meanwhile, the government has imposed a ban on visitor entry to the Secretariat.
