Ishraque’s supporters occupy Matsya Bhaban intersection

Published: 21 May 2025, 4:37:12

BNP leader Ishraque Hossain’s supporters have blocked Matsya Bhaban, halting the traffic in and around the area.

From the Wednesday morning, the protesters started thronging at High Court gate, Jatiya Press Club and Shikkha Bhaban. Their slogans stirred up the whole area. From there, they went to Matsya Bhaban.

Meanwhile, there was no gathering in front of Nagar Bhaban today. Some employees are observing the programme inside it. But the services are suspended.

The followers of Ishraque Hossain have been on the street near Nagar Bhaban since last Wednesday (May 14) demanding his swift swearing-in as the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Earlier, they warned that they will go for tougher movement if their demand is not met by 10AM today.
