17 muggers held in Sylhet in 24 hrs

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-9 has arrested 17 muggers in Sylhet in the last 24 hours.
RAB-9 Commanding Officer Manjur Karim disclosed the information at a press conference on Friday (March 28) afternoon.
Earlier, the arrests were made on Thursday night during raids at various locations in Sylhet based on intelligence reports.
The arrested individuals are Badol Mia Kawsar, 27, Suhel Ahmed Rocky, 20, Md. Saja Mia, 31, Tayef Ahmed, 26, Sheikh Monir and Kala Monir, 30, Khorshed Mia, 27, Akash Hossain, 21, Md. Shaheen, 32, Saimon, 22, Ramzan Al Amin, 21, Masum Mia, 35, Asadul Mia, 42, Shamim Mia, 30, Md. Badsha Mia, 30, Delwar Hossain, 48, Azad, 30, and Sumon, 22.
Manjur Karim said, “The activities of teenage gangs and muggers have increased in Sylhet ahead of the upcoming Eid. In response, RAB launched this special operation, during which all the arrested individuals were identified muggers.”
He added that they committed these crimes primarily to fund their drug habits.
The operation will continue, he also said.
