Trading continues in stock market as index rises

On Tuesday, March 25th, the third trading day of the week, the stock market witnessed a rise in indices, with trading ongoing at both of the country’s main stock exchanges: the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).
According to sources from the DSE and CSE, half an hour into the trading session, at 10:30 AM, the general index of the DSE, DSEX, increased by 23 points, standing at 5,220 points, compared to the previous day’s level. The DSE Shariah Index rose by 2 points, and the DSE-30 Index went up by 10 points, reaching 1,168 and 1,921 points, respectively. During this period, shares and mutual fund units worth 78.79 crore BDT were traded.
Among the companies traded on Tuesday, the prices of 237 companies increased, 39 companies saw a decrease, and 62 companies’ share prices remained unchanged.
At 10:30 AM, the top 10 companies in terms of trading volume included: LankaBangla, Beximco Pharma, Orion Infusion, Shinepukur Ceramics, Beach Hatchery, Sea Pearl, Square Pharma, Alif Industries, Islami Finance, and KDS.
Earlier, during the first 5 minutes of trading on Tuesday, the DSEX index increased by 20 points. By 10:10 AM, the index further rose by 3 points, and the upward trend continued. At 10:20 AM, the index climbed another 27 points to reach 5,224 points, marking an increase compared to the previous day’s level.
Meanwhile, at 10:30 AM, the CASPI index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange rose by 19 points, reaching 14,558 points. The upward trend continued thereafter.
Up to 10:30 AM, shares and mutual fund units worth 45 lakh BDT were traded on the CSE. During this period, the prices of 15 companies increased, 8 companies saw a decline, and 3 companies’ shares remained unchanged.
