First phase of Biswa Ijtema begins

The first phase of the Bishwa Ijtema has begun with Aam Bayan on the banks of the Turag River in Gazipur’s Tongi.
The formalities of the Ijtema began after dawn on Friday (January 31).
In the meantime, lakhs of devotees from home and abroad have arrived at the main pandal of the Ijtema ground on the banks of Turag.
According to the organizing source, Maulana Ziaul Haque of Pakistan began his speech in Urdu after the Fajr prayer. His speech was translated into Bengali by Maulana Nurur Rahman of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, the country’s largest Friday prayer will be held at the Bishwa Ijtema Maidan today. Devotees from Dhaka-Gazipur and surrounding districts have started coming to the Ijtema Maidan to participate in this prayer. The caravan of devotees is rushing towards Tongi by all means including road, rail and waterways. It is expected that lakhs of devotees will participate in the Friday prayer.
