The FIFA tournaments taking place in 2025

The Club World Cup, qualifying for the biggest-ever World Cup, three youth tournaments, the Beach Soccer World Cup, the first Women’s Futsal World Cup, the Intercontinental Cup and the Arab Cup are all on the agenda.

FIFA World Cup 26 qualifiers

AFC – Round three of qualification continues in March 2025
CAF – Next round of fixtures takes place in March 2025
Concacaf – Second round of qualification continues in March 2025
CONMEBOL – Next round of fixtures takes place in March 2025
OFC – Third round of qualification takes place in March 2025
UEFA – Qualification tournament begins in March 2025

The road to Canada, Mexico and the USA for FIFA World Cup 26™ continues throughout 2025, with the first qualifiers to join the three host nations set to be confirmed in March. The draw for UEFA’s preliminary tournament was made in December 2024, with the European confederation being the sixth and final group to begin their contest to reach the global showpiece.

FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup

1 May – 11 May 2025
Seychelles

There will be 16 nations battling it out for glory on the sands of the Seychelles over 11 days of thrilling action. Eight teams have so far booked their tickets to the tournament – Belarus, Italy, Mauritania, Portugal, Senegal, Seychelles, Spain and Tahiti – with a further eight spots remaining open to qualifiers from CONMEBOL (three), AFC (three) and Concacaf (two).

FIFA Club World Cup

14 June – 13 July 2025
USA

The eyes of the world will be trained on the United States in June and July when 32 leading clubs representing all six global confederations gather for the eagerly-anticipated FIFA Club World Cup 2025™. A total of 12 venues will be used to host the tournament’s 63 matches, with the final to be held at MetLife Stadium in New York New Jersey and the opening match between Al Ahly FC and Inter Miami CF at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

FIFA U-20 World Cup

27 September – 19 October 2025
Chile

The FIFA U-20 World Cup™ will be back for its 24th edition. Twelve nations have lifted the trophy before, the latest being Uruguay in 2023. Twenty-four teams will contest the tournament in Chile, with 11 slots alongside the hosts having already been filled by New Zealand, New Caledonia, France, Italy, Norway, Spain, Ukraine, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, and USA.

FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

17 October to 8 November 2025
Morocco

Host nation Morocco will welcome a further 23 teams to North Africa for the ninth edition of the expanded FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup™. New Zealand, Samoa, Japan, holders Korea DPR, Korea Republic and China PR have already booked their tickets, with qualification tournaments for CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL and UEFA scheduled for the first half of 2025. Morocco will hold the tournament annually between 2025 and 2029.

FIFA U-17 World Cup

5 November – 27 November 2025
Qatar

The FIFA Council confirmed in December 2024 that the expanded FIFA U-17 World Cup – the first edition of the tournament to comprise 48 teams and be played annually – will take place from 5 to 27 November 2025. Qatar will act as hosts for the tournament from 2025 to 2029. Germany are the current holders of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, following their dramatic penalty shootout victory over France in Indonesia in 2023.

FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup

21 November – 7 December
The Philippines

The stunning Southeast Asian nation of the Philippines will host the maiden FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup™ in 2025. Set against inspiring mountain ranges and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, the competition sees 16 teams from across all six confederations compete. Alongside the hosts, New Zealand are the only side to have booked their ticket so far.

FIFA Arab Cup

Qatar

At the request of the Qatar Football Association, Qatar will host the Arab Cup in 2025, 2029 and 2033, which will follow the principle of an invitational competition not included in the International Match Calendar. Algeria are the current holders, having lifted the trophy at the 2021 tournament in Qatar with a 2-0 victory over Tunisia.
FIFA Intercontinental Cup

The FIFA Intercontinental Cup™ gives the champions of all six confederations the chance to compete on the global stage on an annual basis. The tournament has an exciting format, with teams competing for annual confederation-based titles and trophies. The quest for silverware will start right from the opening phase, when teams play for the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup. Real Madrid were crowned champions in 2024 after defeating Pachuca in the final.
