Government efforts are going on to stabilise the prices of essential commodities centering the upcoming Ramadan, said Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin on Saturday.
“We are striving to maintain a balance between supply and demand to ensure affordability. For this, we expect collective efforts and public cooperation.”
Commerce Adviser Bashiruddin said these at a scholarship cheque distribution event at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Saturday.
He informed that prices of oil, sugar and onion have decreased across the country.
The adviser reflected on the challenges faced over the last 15 years, during which a culture of criminalisation emerged, fragmenting the state and creating a pervasive sense of fear across various sectors.
