2 Chhatra League leaders arrested following pro-Hasina rally in Sylhet

RAB-9 detained two leaders of the banned Chhatra League for reportedly organising a rally in favour of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina in Sylhet city last night (18 November).
The detainees, identified as Rakibul Hasan Nirob, vice president of the Airport Thana Chhatra League, and its organisational secretary Debnath, were arrested from the Kotwali Thana area.
In a press release today, RAB-9 Media Officer (Assistant Superintendent of Police) Md Moshiur Rahman Shohel stated, “The duo was arrested during a drive at 11:40pm on Monday in the Kotwali Thana area. Both are accused in sabotage and explosives cases filed with Kotwali police. They have been handed over to the police following the arrest.”
Earlier yesterday morning, around 15-20 masked youths carried out a flash rally near Sylhet’s Dargah Gate area chanting slogans such as “Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu.”
They expressed support for Sheikh Hasina and the banned Chhatra League while protesting against Interim Government Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.
The carried banners with slogans like “Sylhet’s land is Hasina’s stronghold,” “Illegal ICT court is unacceptable to the people,” and “We demand execution of the genocidal killer Yunus.”
The banner featured images of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina on either side, alongside slogans like “Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu.”
