Trump and Harris to make final sprint across key states as polls suggest the race is exceptionally close

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are pushing their closing messages to voters on the last day of campaigning before America decides its next president.
Both candidates are in a final sprint across key battleground states, with Harris to campaign in Pennsylvania today and Trump heading to North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
On Sunday, Harris vowed to do everything in her power to “end the war in Gaza”, while Trump made claims, without providing any evidence, of election fraud in Pennsylvania.
Trump also suggested at a rally he wouldn’t mind if a potential assassin tried to shoot through the “fake news.” His campaign says the remark was misinterpreted.
The polls suggest the race is still exceptionally close and more than 75 million people have already voted.
Harris has had a small lead over Trump in the national polling averages since she entered the race at the end of July and she remains ahead – 48% to 47%, according to the latest data from 538/ABC News, external.
In the seven swing states identified as key in this election, the race is also very close. Trump has a slight lead in Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Georgia and Arizona. Harris commands a small lead in Wisconsin and Michigan.
