BPL to begin on December 30

Published: 31 October 2024, 2:50:17

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20’s 11th edition is set to kick off on December 30, 2024, with the final scheduled for February 7, 2025, as confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Supported by the Bangladesh Government, BCB has committed to delivering a high-quality tournament, with final details expected soon.

This year’s BPL saw franchises build their squads through a players’ draft held on October 14.

However, due to political and logistical challenges, former teams such as Comilla Victorians, Duronto Dhaka, and Chattogram Challengers will be absent. Sylhet Strikers, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders, and defending champions Fortune Barishal will continue, while the league also welcomes back Chittagong Kings after an 11-year break, alongside two new franchises: Dhaka Capitals and Durbar Rajshahi.

To enhance the fan experience, the BCB plans to introduce an e-ticketing system for this season, streamlining access for supporters.
