Two farmers killed in lightning strike

Two farmers died after being struck by lightning in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj on Tuesday.
The deceased were Abdus Salam, 40, son of late Abdur Rashid of Bhularjum village in Mirashi union under the Chunarughat upazila and Prosu Devnath, 40, son of Satish Devnath of Rupsopur village of the upazila.
According to local sources, Salam and Prosu Devnath were killed by lightning strikes when they were working on a land.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chunarughat Police Station Hillol Roy said Salam and Devnath were working in the field. They were killed by lightning strikes at Rupsopur Dakkhin haor in Mirashi union under the upazila
Police visited the spot, he said adding that the bodies will be handed over to their families following legal procedure.
