EC Secretary Jahangir Alam transferred

Election Commission Secretary Md Jahangir Alam has been transferred and made Secretary to the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular on Tuesday (May 21) announcing the transfer. It said Jahangir Alam made Secretary to the Public Security Division. The order would be effective as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, in another seperate notification, the Ministry of Public Administration said Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director Shafiul Azim has been made EC Secretary. Beacuse of it, he was promoted to the post of secretary from additional secretary. The order will be effective from May 30 next, said the notification.

Md Jahangir Alam joined the Election Commission Secretariat on November 2, 2022. Earlier, he was promoted to the post of secretary on October 27 of that year from the Ministry of Public Administration and made EC Secretary.

Prior to become secretary, Jahangir Alam served as additional secretary at the Public Security Division.
