Patuakhali-1 by-polls on November 26

The by-election to Patuakhali-1 constituency is set to be held on November 26.
Election Commission Secretary Jahangir Alam said the EC announced the schedule of the elections after a meeting of the commissioners on Tuesday.
He said the last date for submission of nomination papers is November 1 while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 9.
On Sunday, the parliament secretariat announced the constituency vacant after former state minister for religious affairs and Patuakhali-1 lawmaker Shahjahan Miah died on Saturday.
