2nd phase of Ijtema: Four die in one day

Five devotees have, so far, died on the Bishwa Ijtema ground during the 2nd phase that began on Friday.
With the death of four more from Friday evening to night, the total number of death reached five. They have died due to various complications.
The four devotees are: Abdul Hannan, 45, of Dhaka’s Kodomtoli; Md Borhan, 48, of Dhaka; Hamid Mandal, 55, of Gabandha; and Mofizul Islam, 54, of Savar.
Another devotee died early hours of Friday.
On Saturday, Indian Islamic scholar Maulana Yeakub Ali conducted sermon after Fajr prayers.
Earlier, thousands of devotees from home and abroad attended Jumma prayers, led by Maulana Saad’s son Yusuf bin Saad Kandhalvi, at the Ijtema ground on Friday.
The three-day Biswa Ijtema will end on January 22 with Akheri Munajat (final prayers).
The first phase of the three-day Bishwa Ijtema was held from January 13-15.
