Jamaat ameer Shafiqur Rahman detained

Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Shafiqur Rahman was picked up by DB police from Bashundhara residential area in the capital early Tuesday, claimed his family and the party men.

Jamaat Dhaka city south secretary and the party’s central working committee member Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud confirmed the matter through his facebook page.

Plainclothes men identifying themselves as Detective Branch (DB) picked up Shafiqur Rahman around 4am. But reason behind his detention could not be known yet.

Sources said he was taken to DB office in Mintu road.
