Two Bangladeshis shot at near Sylhet’s Majhergaon border

Two Bangladeshi nationals were injured being shot at allegedly by members of Indian Khashi community near Majhergaon border at Companiganj upazila in Sylhet district on Thursday.

The injured are Sudhangsu Das, 45, son of Hemanta Das, and Mukhlesur Rahman, 30, son of Tota Mia, residents of Majhergaon village in the upazila.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Camp-48 commander Lieutenant Colonel Saiful Islam Chowdhury said some members of Indian Khashi community opened fire on them when they went near the border to cut grass for their cattle.

Later, they were rescued and taken to a nearby hospital, he added.
