25 women receive Joyeeta Award in Sylhet
Altogether 25 women in Sylhet have been honoured with the Joyeeta Award for their success in diverse fields by overcoming obstacles and challenges.
The Women Affairs Department Office and Sylhet Divisional Commissioner’s Office jointly organized the award-giving ceremony at Poet Nazrul Auditorium in Sylhet town on Wednesday.
State Minister of Women and Children Affairs Fazilatunnessa Indira handed over the awards, while Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Md Moshiur Rahman presided over the event.
The awards went to five women from each of four districts and to an additional five at the divisional level.
The following awardees received the award for economic successes, contributions to social development, successes in education and career, overcoming trauma of torture, and successes in parenting, in that order:
Minara Begum, Asiya Khanam Shikder, Dr Nasrin Sultana Lucky, Saleha Begum, and Shamsunnahar Chowdhury from Sylhet.
Saleha Begum, Samina Chowdhury Moni, Shwarnali Dey, Chhaya Rani Chowdhury and Rani Das from Sunamganj.
Selina Akhter, Sheikh Suma Zaman, Rani Modak, Sahida Akhtar Rezia and Nurunnahar Begum from Habiganj.
Rawshan Ara Begum, Rumana Akhtar Rubi, Nazmin Akhtar, Hajera Akhtar, and Rita Dutt from Moulvibazar.
