Six boys held in Sylhet

Sylhet Office : Six teenaged boys were arrested with sharp weapons at Kuarpar at Sylhet on Wednesday night.
The arrested were identified as Palash, 18, son of Manik Miah of Housing Estate in the city, Shah Alam, 16, son of Samuj Ali of Kalirgaon in Jalalabad, Farhad, 16, son of Lokman Miah of Tilagaon in Jalalabad, Sohan, 17, son of Fayzul Islam of Tilagaon in Jalalabad, Ashik, 17, son of Nurul Haque of Uttar Bagbari, and Sohag, 17, son of Nayeb Ali of Dakshin Sunamganj in Sunamganj.
Locals said police arrested the six boys at about 9:00pm on Wednesday at Kuarpar in the city when they were preparing to launch an attack on the house of one of their associates in a sequel to a factional dispute.
Kotwali police officer-in-charge Selim Miah told the boys were held with three long machetes and four cricket stamps.
‘The arrested were produced before the additional chief metropolitan magistrate court Thursday noon, and the court sent Palash, 18, to jail and 5 others to juvenile correction centre,’ he said.
