SUST Correspondent : Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) professor and celebrated writer Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal on Thursday said he wouldn’t join any other university after retiring from SUST to keep his identity a teacher of the university.
Dr Iqbal announced this at the 25th joining anniversary programme at SUST organised by ‘SUST Science Arena’.
“Many private universities are offering me to join there after my retirement, but I won’t go there,” he said.
The professor commemorated the memories of the university and recalled the history of the Liberation War in 1971.
His wife Dr Yasmeen Haque said Dr Iqbal has a dream to make a huge boat and live on that after retiring from the university.
Dr Zafar Iqbal completed his honors in Physics in 1975 and Masters in 1976 from Dhaka University.
He obtained his Ph.D degree from Washington University in 1982 and started research at California Institute of Technology.
He conducted research at Bell Communications Research from 1988-1994 and joined SUST as an associate professor of Computer Science and Technology Department.
