How to reduce tan using floral face masks

The scorching sun and soaring temperature are absolute evils to skin care. Harsh sun rays penetrate to the layers of the skin thus causing pigmentation and red patches.
Is your skin overexposed to the sun? It can cause uneven, pale complexion and rapidly affect areas like nose, forehead, hands and even overlooked areas like lips and ears. Apart from synthetic sunscreen lotions, there are various natural remedies to reduce inflamed, itchy and flaky skin caused due to suntan.

Skin experts, Dr Blossom Kochhar and Richa Agarwal list recipes of homemade face packs made out of flowers and herbs have essential oils that carry de-tan and great skin exfoliating qualities. They suggest natural tan removal cures to keep the skin healthy and tan-free. Take note:Oatmeal powder and yogurt face pack

Benefits: Yogurt has bleaching effects which removes dirt and dark layer. It also reduces spots and scars. Your skin will feel smooth, supple and clear. Owing to its healing, moisturizing and anti-oxidant properties, oatmeal is effective in soothing sunburn, itching and inflammation of the skin.

Procedure: Mix one tablespoon oatmeal powdered with a little yogurt to make a paste. Add the juice of cucumber or grapes into the paste. Massage this pack on the tanned areas and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse off and apply moisturizer mixed with 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil.

Red clay face pack

Benefits: It offers an abundance of benefits in a way of the goodness of iron oxide, the pack takes off all impurities caused due to pollutants and sun exposure that clog the pores. To enhance the effect of the pack you can add a thin paste of orange peel that contains vitamin C and has skin bleaching properties.

Procedure: Take 1 tablespoon red clay powder, mix cold rose water and raw milk or cucumber juice. Mix them all to get a paste of thick consistency. Apply on the skin and let it get dry on the skin, remove softly with wet hands while patting on the skin.Jasmine and milk powder face pack

Benefits: This pack will scrub off dull and dead skin and give it a perfect glow as lactic acid in milk powder help reduce pigmentation, heal dry skin, hydrate skin, heal acne and relieve sunburn. You can also use Jasmine petals with coconut oil and massage on your skin. You can do this on a regular basis to get a glow on the skin.

Procedure: Soak Jasmine petals, milk powder and coconut water to make a paste. Apply on face and let it rest for some time.

Lavender face pack

Benefits: Lavender has skin lightening agents and using it can make your skin become clearer. Lavender will scrub off dead skin cells and it will brighten your skin. Lavender’s anti-inflammatory properties make it great for soothing and healing skin that’s irritated or reddened from the sun.

Procedure: Crush lavender and mix rose water and apply the paste on the face. Do gentle scrubbing and leave on the skin for better absorption. Remove petals from flowers and boil them, strain the water and add rose water, let water and petals cool. Mix them with rose water and apply on the skin. Keep for 20 minutes and wash your face with cold strained water.

Chamomile pack

Benefits: This daisy-like flower with mild fragrance works as a natural cleanser and regular use can remove blackheads and pigments from your face. Chamomile tea helps fade spots, eliminate acne scars and fight breakouts due to its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. Chamomile tea is a powerhouse of antioxidants and protects the skin from free-radical damage.

Procedure: Crush petals, (use Chamomile tea bag if petals are not available ), mix gram flour and water or chamomile tea bag water. Add a few drops of lemon in it.
