Hosna and Mostafa killed Faruk as he was a threat to their affair
Sylhet Office : A woman was arrested in Sylhet for allegedly hacking her husband to death for interfering with her extramarital affair.
She has reportedly confessed the crime to the police.
Faruk Ahmed, 30, of Baurbhagh Ditiyakhanda village in Kanaighat upazila, was killed by his wife, Hosna Begum, and her lover, Mostafa, in the early hours of Monday.
Hosna was arrested on Wednesday after Faruk’s body was found inside a septic tank, confirmed Abdul Ahad, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kanaighat police station.
According to the police official, Hosna, a mother of four, hacked Faruk to death with the help of Mostafa. Police arrested Hosna after the victim’s family filed a general diary when he went missing.
His body was later recovered by the police.
“In a confessional statement, Hosna said she and Mostafa killed Faruk as he was trying to ruin their affair,” OC Ahad said.
Efforts are underway to arrest Mostafa, and a murder case will be filed over the incident, he added.
