Transport workers call for day-long strike in Sylhet

Sylhet Office : The strike is being called seeking amendment of some sections of ‘Road Transport Act 2018’
Workers of the Bangladesh Road Transport Federation Sylhet Committee have called for a day-long strike on Monday.
The strike will be from 6am-6pm on Monday, announced federation leaders in a press briefing at the Sylhet Press Club on Saturday.
However, private cars, and ambulances will not be subject to the strike and will be allowed to move freely.
The strike has been called to drive home their demands for amending some sections of the “Road Transport Act 2018.”
Federation President Selim Ahmed was present at the briefing while the General Secretary read out a written statement which also mentioned a seven-point demand.
He also urged workers of Sylhet division to make the strike successful.
