3 farmers killed by lightning strike in Sylhet
Sylhet Office : A lightning strike killed three farmers at Dhupri Haor in Fenchuganj upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased are – Jitu Mia, son of Tajmul Ali of Fenchuganj upazila; Rajon Mia, son of Moikandar Ali, and Anwar Hossain of Gopalganj upazila.
The lightning struck around 11am when the farmers were working at a field, killing them on the spot, said Abul Bashar Mohammad Badruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Fenchuganj Police Station.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ayesha Haque provided Tk 10,000 to Jitu’s family.
