Sylhet Office : A young man was gunned down by suspected robbers at Samparkandi village in Balaganj upazila early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Sahab Uddin, 26, son of Surman Ali, a resident of the village.
Gazi Ataur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Balaganj Police Station, said that a gang of robbers stormed into the houses of Surman Ali and Sohrab around 4am.
They shot Shahab after he obstructed them. The injured was taken to Balaganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced him dead.
Besides, two people were also injured in the attack.
“It might be a planned murder,” the OC said, adding that they are investigating the incident.
