Obaidul Quader shifted to cabin
Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader has been shifted to a cabin from the ICU on Wednesday after his condition improved further.
“He is doing well,” said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, who is now accompanying the ailing minister.
“Doctors are preparing to conduct a bypass surgery next week,” Rizvi said.
Quader’s condition has been improving gradually over the last few days and he was able to walk on Monday.
Quader, also the general secretary of ruling Awami League, was admitted to BSMMU on March 3 following breathing complications.
Tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery.
Later on March 4, he was flown to Singapore for better treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
