The deceased was identified as Lal Shah, 35, a Maldives expatriate and a resident of the village.
Quoting locals, Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Chanurughat Police Station, said two children of Jabed Ali and Lal Shah locked into an altercation while playing togather.
As a sequel of this incident, Jabed’s family members carried out an attack on Lal and other members of his family with sharp weapons. At one stage, they hacked Lal, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, police arrested six people including Jabed Ali in this connection, the OC added.
