UK Bangladesh High Commissioner presented credentials to the Queen

Bangladesh’s High Commissioner

Ansar Ahmed Ullah :: Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to the UK Md Abdul Hannan presented his credentials to Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II at the Buckingham Palace on 11 February 2015 in a simple but regal ceremony.

High Commissioner Md Abdul Hannan, joined the London Mission as High Commissioner on 30 September 2014.

Acting Vice Marshal of the Diplomatic corps Ms. Francesca Flessati OBE came to the Chancery to take the High Commissioner in a Royal carriage for the Credential Ceremony at the Buckingham Palace. Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps Mr. Alistair Harrison CMG CVO along with other Senior Officials of the Palace and Foreign Office welcomed the High Commissioner at the Grand Entrance of the Buckingham Palace.

Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps introduced High Commissioner and his wife to Her Majesty the Queen and then High Commissioner formally presented the letter of Credence and the Letter of Recall of his predecessor to the Queen. The High Commissioner conveyed the warm greetings from Bangladesh’s President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Her Majesty.

Later, the High Commissioner hosted a Vin d’Honneur at the High Commission which was attended by a number of British Parliamentarians, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, senior officials of the Palace & Foreign Office Officials and members of media, think tank, professionals, social and business leaders.

A career diplomat Md Abdul Hannan, earlier, served as Bangladesh Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UN Offices in Geneva and Vienna. He also served as Ambassador concurrently accredited to Switzerland and Vatican from Geneva. Before Geneva, he served as Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
