Rahima Khan to contest for Executive Mayor in Newham council

Brit Bangladeshi  Rahima Khan is contesting for the Executive Mayor post in 2018 Newham Council election. She has received the final nomination from Conservative party.  Newham Council is holding its Mayor and council election on 3rd May 2018. Conservative Party website confirmed that she was nominated within a full democratic process.

In the past Tory party contested in all Mayor and Council posts, however Labour Party is now in full control of this council.

In 2014 election Tory candidate received 13,976 votes; where as Labour party candidate was elected as the Executive Mayor receiving 47,095 votes.

Rahima Khan has been living in Newham Council for more than 20 years.  She is a teacher in profession.
