Bangladesh Journalist Association UK and Support Life UK organised a view exchanging meeting with Shefik Rehman and Iftar Mahfil on 17th June in Micro Business Centre in East London.
Responsing to the felicitation, Shafik Rehman said that there are still a large crisis of ethics in national level. He urged all the journalists and peole who works in media to be careful on this issue. He mentioned that the editorial policy of Jai Jai Din never attacked religious value of general people and hence it was followed by everyone. He also said he had to stop publishing columns written by Taslima Nasrin for this issue.
President of Bangladesh Journalist Association UK, K M Abu Taher Chowdhury presided over the meeting and prominent journalist Shamsul Alam Liton conducted it.

Criticising the present governments’ abusive policy on journalism Dr M A Malek said that none of the government in past managed to stay in power by suffocating the media so this government will not be able to continue it tyranny by overpowering the media.
President of Support Life Dr Mamun Rahman said that responsibility, right and security – these all are inter-related. The government has chosen the wrong way to control the media as it has failed to provide the security of its citizen’s lives and articles.
A Duwa was conducted praying long life of Shafik Rehman and cure of his wife Taleya Rehman.
