Dirai-Shalla Association UK will distribute rice among the flood victims

Dirai-Shalla Cultural and Welfare Association UK organised an Iftar and Duwa Mahfil on 5th June in a restaurant in East London. President of the organisation Md Shamsul Haque Chowdhury presided over the meeting and General Secretary Shahidul Islam Nazrul conduct the Iftar and Duwa Mahfil where Doctor Syed Mashuk Ahmed recited from the Quran in the beginning.

Leaders and members of the association decided to distribute more than hundreds sacks of rice to the flood victims of Dirai-Shalla Haor area.  The committee also said that the money will be raised soon and the rice distribution will take place immediately.

The speakers presented the successful activities of the organisation and mentioned that the organisation is playing a very important role helping the poor and destitute people of the area.

In 2012 the organisation started its work by distributing clothes in Dirai-Shalla writh seven lakh taka.

In 2013 it financed 12 tubewell, in 2014 it organised a felicitation meeting, in 2015 it funded wedding ceremonies for 36 poor young girls of very poor families and in 2016-17 it distributed 90 sewing machines among the poor and destitute families.

Other guests who addressed the audience included Professor Omar Faruque, Haji Siraj Miah, Mowlana Shueb Ahmed, Md Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, Mohammod Harun Miah, Najrul Islam, Mufti Mowlana Burhan Uddin, Ashiq Miah, Advocate Abul Hasanat, Mijan Chowdhury, Shahidul Islam Najrul, Ajmal Hossain Chowdhury Jabed, Misba Chowdhury, Dr Syed Mashuk Ahmed, Mashuk  Sardar, Mohammod Bulon Miah, Anwarul Haque Firoj, Ruhul Amin, Mamun Sardar, Atiqur Rahman Rubel, Syed Jiaur Rahman, Abdul Gaffar, Mamunur Rashid, Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Mirza Hossain, Harun Miah, Ziaul Haque Chowdhury.
