President Abdul Hamid has taken an aerial view of different flashflood-affected haor areas in Kishoreganj, Netrakona and Sunamganj districts on Monday.
The President took the aerial view of the badly affected areas of Itna, Baniarchar, Ganiganj, Khaliajhuri, Derai, Jamalganj, Sullah, Tahirpur, Dharmapasha and Chhatak by a helicopter on the second day of his three-day visit to haor region.
President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters about the President’s visit in the affected areas.
The majority of the haor dwellers are now facing hard days losing their boro paddy fields due to the flashflood caused by recent flow of water from Indian hills.
Earlier on Sunday afternoon, President Abdul Hamid also took aerial view of some areas in Kishoreganj after he arrived there from Dhaka.
He also listened to the demands of the flood-affected victims on Sunday night.
