Ten day long CMSS Book Fair Begun in Sylhet

unnamed (1)Book- reading habit always enhances knowledge by removing ignorance and immorality from the mindset of everybody to enlighten the society and common people as well as the nation as a whole.

Noted literary and socio-cultural personalities expressed the view in the inaugural ceremony of the 10-day long CMSS Sylhet Book Fair- 2017 Monday afternoon on the Central Muslim Shahitto Sangshed ground in the Sylhet city.

Central Muslim Shahitto Sangshed Sylhet has been organizing the book fair where 40 stalls have been set up by 16 publication houses, Littlemag and other literary organizations from Sylhet as well as the capital city.

The visitors can purchase novels, story books and collections of poems, books for the children and other popular books recently displayed in the Ekushey Book Fair- 2017 in the capital city.

VC of Metropolitan University  D. Saleh Uddin   inaugurated the fair by cutting ribbon in the launching ceremony as the chief guest.

Former president of CMSS Sylhet Harunuzzaman Chowdhury, Convener of Book Fair ANM Shofiqul Haque, Eminent Writer Abdul Hamid Manik, CMSS Sectary Dewan Mahmud Raza, Vice Chairman Boshir Uddin, Salim Awal were present as special guests.

Presided over by CMSS Sylhet President  Professor Abdul Aziz, its Member Syed Mobnu moderated the ceremony participated by literary and cultural personalities, academicians, researchers and elite of the city.

The chief guest said the book fair would be able to create interests among the common people, especially young generations, in book-reading, literary and cultural activities to enrich our cultural and literary heritage.

He put special emphasis on arranging such events frequently to generate interests among the common people by bridging them with books to encourage in acquiring knowledge for building an enlightened and more civilized society.
