The UK-Bangladesh Catalyst of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI) honoured 12 Bangladeshi successful entrepreneurs for their outstanding success in their respective businesses in the United Kingdom in a lively atmosphere at Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London on 20th November.
UKBCCI organised the ‘Business and Entrepreneur Excellence Award-2016’ for the first time to recognise the successful entrepreneurs doing business in the UK.
The awards were handed over to twelve winners in twelve categories at a gala programme held in London recently.
Chief Secretary to the Treasury David Gauke, UKBCCI president Bajloor Rashid, its chairman Iqbal Ahmed Obe and Labour Party MP for Bethnal Green and Bow Rushanara Ali were present at the award giving ceremony.
Majeda Clarke got the award under best new business, Sheikh Oliur Rahman in best product of the year category, Atik Elahi and Ashiq Elahi in business innovation category, Jubair Haque in contribution to the industry category, AKM Fazlul Haque in contribution to the industry (commercial) category, Anis A Khan in the inspirational business leader category, Emon Ahmed in the young entrepreneur of the year category, Nazim Ahmed in the entrepreneur in the year category, Asma Khan in the business women of the year category and Coriander Hosiend bagged the award in restaurant of the year category.
Besides, Dalia Basar got the award in the category of UKBCCI choice and Rangs Group Chairman Rouf Chowdhury has been awarded with life time achievement award.
Chairman of UKBCCI addressed the audience in the beginning. He said that this event is to motivate Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. UKBCCI also wants to extend the scope of business for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. Chairman of UKBCCI Iqbal Ahmed OBE emphasised that UKBCCI is a supersonic jet, by using this, one can reach the summit of success.
Other guests who addressed the audience included Bangladeshi High Commissioner to the UK Mohammod Nazmul Quanine, MP for Bethnal Green and Bow Rushanara Ali MP, Lord Bilimuri and others.
