The popular face of young generations in the UK, prominent sports and youth organiser, General Secretary of UK Shechchashebok Legue Miah Aktar Hussain Chanu passed away (Inna nillahi …. Rajiun). On 22nd November around half 11 he was feeling unwell in his residence in Twin Tower in Shantinagar in Dhaka. He was then taken to BARDEM hospital in Shahbagh where the doctors pronounced him dead. He was 50 years old at the time of dying and was survived by wife, one son, two daughters and many well wishers.
Miah Aktar Hussain Chanu’s news of sudden death was taken as a shock to the Bangladeshi community in the UK. The whole community was saddened and shocked by the unexpected news of ever smiling and cheerful Miah Aktar Hussain Chanu.
His dead body was buried in Sriramshi at his own village after his wife and children arrived at Shriramshi.
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep condolence on the passing of General Secretary of UK Shechchashebok League Miah Aktar Hussain Chanu. In a message, she prayed for his incorporeal soul and extended her sympathy to Chanu’s grief-stricken family and friends.
