Ansar Ahmed Ullah A Civic Service for Mayor of Brent, Councillor Parvez Ahmed was held on Thursday 29 September at the Crest Academy, Brent.
The Service conducted by Cllr Arshad Mahmood celebrated Cllr Ahmed’s civic year and his dedication of the mayoral year to promote his chosen charities; Brent Centre for Young People, Sufra NW London and Community Action on Dementia Brent.
Guest speakers from all faith groups, local community groups and colleagues were invited to speak and offer encouragement to the Mayor for his mayoral year. Guests who spoke were Dawn Butler MP, Deputy Lieutenant, Khondker Talha, Acting High Commissioner for Bangladesh, Sharifa Khan, Commercial Counsellor at Bangladesh High Commission and Christian, Muslim, Jewish Hindu & Buddhist faith leaders.
The Worshipful Mayor in his brief address sincerely thanked all who were able to join him on this very special occasion and said that he looked forward to work with all in the multi-faith diverse Borough of Brent.
