Protest against Islamist violence

unnamed (9)Ansar Ahmed Ullah Following recent Islamist attacks in Bangladesh and in other parts of the world a London protest against terrorism took place on 20 August 2016 in Altab Ali Park, Banglatown, East London.

The human chain was addressed by Nirmul Committee’s Syed Enamul Islam, Awami League’s Sultan Shariff, Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Husneara Matin, CPB’s Rafiqul Hasan Khan Jinnah & Advocate Abid Ali, JASOD’s Mujibul Haq Moni, Engineer Mifta Husain, Nirmul Committee’s Syed Anas Pasha, Jamal Khan, Syeda Sultana Naznin Shikha, Smriti Azad, Ruby Haq, Shah M R Belal, Sinthia Arefin, Sushanta Das Gupta & Urmee Mazhar amongst many others.

The rally was held in the light of the recent Islamist attack on Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka’s Gulshan, Dhaka on 1 July 2016 where 20 innocent people including 9 Italians, 7 Japanese were killed followed by similar attacks in Middle East, Europe, US and Turkey.
Speakers said the rise of fanatic Islamism across the globe and groups like Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISIS, who are propagating hate messages against other faith communities and carrying out violent acts are enemies of humanity. They do not represent religion. We will defeat then as we did in 1971.
