North Wales Bangladesh Community Association organised a seminar on Saturday 30th January to raise the importance of Bengali language and its culture to the new generations of Bangladeshi youth living in the UK.
The seminar took place in a local Islamic Cultural Centre in Brill in North Wales. President of North Wales Bangladeshi Community Association Abdus Salam presided over the seminar and General Secretary Azad Uddin conducted it. Assistant High Commissioner in Bangladeshi High Commission in Manchester, Mrs Ferdousi Shahria attended the seminar as Chief Guest.
The speakers emphasised on learning and practicing mother language while living abroad and said that practice mother language will accustom more to the heritage and culture.
Guests who addressed the audience included Chairperson of Greater Sylhet Development and Welfare Council in UK Chester and North Wales region Abdul Molikh, Co General Secretary A T M Lokman, Councilor of Bangor Mohammod Sultan, Cllr Abdul Mukit Khan, Poet Nuruzzaman Chowdhury, Head Teacher of Islamic Cultural Centre Halima Ahmed, Yousuf Ali, Sharjan Ali and others.
