Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council strongly condemns the notice given to Mr Dasgupta and urges the Bangladesh Government for the unconditional withdrawal of the notice immediately.
Condemnation press statement was issued from a meeting of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC) UK and EUROPE held on Friday, 21st August 2015 presided by Dhirendra Nath Halder and conducted by Dr Shipra Das, Secretary of BHBCUC UK. The meeting was addressed by Samir Das, General Secretary of BHBCUC Europe, Sanjoy Ghosh, Shyamal Modak, Ranjit Saha, Sisir Das, Shyamal Roy, Babu Mazumder, Palash Chandra Sarkar and Debdut Mondal, Sanjoy Das, Chiranjit Majumder, Poly Saha, Debangsu Sengupta, Swapan Kumar Mazumdar, Smita Roy, Amitabha Sikder and Sudipta Das.
It has been reported in the Daily Star on 21 August that Rana Dasgupta has been issued a notice by a probe committee of Faridpur district administration on August 18th to appear before the ADC’s office at 10am on August 23rd to give his statement about the allegation of LGRD Minister Khandker’s involvement in the grabbing of Hindus’ lands in Faridpur. What Rana Dasgupta said in the conference, as reported in the papers, etc. was based on factual evidences.
