Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi faces Kashmiri protesters in London

By Matiar Chowdhury : Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi faced hundreds of Kashmiri protesters living in Britain in front of the hotel where he was staying. The protesters outside the hotel were shouting anti-Pakistani slogans and waving black flags outside Park Lane’s Intercontinental in London. The protest took place on Tuesday evening, 5 February. Kashmiri citizens living in the UK protested with banners and holding black flags in front of the hotel.

Protesters shouted slogans “na-jihadis”, “no-Pakistani”, “uphold secularism”, “uphold democracy”, “fake solidarity – na manjur”, “jihadi -na manjur, ‘Pakistani Solidarity Na Manjur, na manjur’ etc. Speakers at the rally organised by JKNAP said, Pakistani ISI are training Kashmiri jihadis to destroy Kashmir. They added Pakistani militant organisations such as Lashkar e Tayyaba, Jaish e Mohammad and Jamaati militants are operating inside Jammu Kashmir. The Pakistani government are supporting the militants. Pakistan is a terrorist country. The neighbouring countries, including Kashmir, are being attacked repeatedly by Pakistani militants.

Speakers said that Kashmiri people have always lived in communal harmony for centuries as Hindu-Muslim-Buddhist-Christian Kashmiris, who believe in harmony. With the support of Pakistani government & sponsored by ISI extremist separatists are destroying age long communal harmony.

If the Pakistanis do not stop sponsoring the militants, it will lead to further tragedy. At the gathering conducted by NAP President, Sajjad Raja, those who addressed the demo were International Women Network President Shahida Hyder, Miss Sameena Raja, Qasim Zia, Shazia GD, Ghazanfer Khan, Raja Sikandar Khan amongst others.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Personal Secretary Asaf Karman arrived in London on 4th February to attend a seminar organised by the Global Pakistan & Kashmir Supreme Council. They are both staying at the Intercontinental hotel. As their car approached the hotel a protester who tried to block the path with a black flag was removed by the police.
