SUST student hacked on campus


SUST Correspondent : A student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) was hacked by a group of miscreants at the university campus on Friday.

The victim was identified as Md Omar Faruq, a second-year student of Bangla Department.

The injured student Faruq told UNB that he went out for a walk with one of his department’s junior students around 4pm at the sideways of Syed Mujtaba Ali Hall.

On the way back around 4:30 pm, five youths incepted them and snatched away his mobile phone and wallet and at one stage they hacked him with a knife when he had resisted them, he added.

The injured student was rescued and given primary treatment, said Zahir Uddin Ahmed Proctor of the university.

A case was filed with Jalalabad Police Station in the evening, he added.
