Dhaka, Jun 23 : Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul participated in the three-day Import Goods Fair (IGF) 2018 that ended in Coex Mall in Seoul on Saturday.
Participation of Bangladesh in the fair has provided Bangladesh an opportunity to present its unconventional products which generated enthusiasm among the Korean businessmen, said the Embassy in a press release.
Many of them enquired about these products with interest. These enthusiasm and interest may assist us to create a future market for these products in Korea which would further strengthen our bilateral commercial relationship, it said.
Korean businessmen showed their high interest about the leather goods and ceramic commodities of Bangladesh.
About two hundred visitors and businessmen from different countries visited Bangladesh Pavilion at the fair.
In order to provide opportunities for the partner countries for showcasing their new products annually to the Korean buyers, Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) has been organizing the Fair for a long time.
This year, 50 countries including Bangladesh participated in this Fair, said the Embassy.
On June 21, KOIMA Chairman Myoung-jin Shin, in presence of the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of the participating countries inaugurated the fair officially.
When the KOIMA Chairman and other Ambassadors visited Bangladesh Pavilion, Ambassador Abida Islam and other officials of the Embassy welcomed them.
Bangladesh Ambassador then presented traditional ‘Gamcha’ to the KOIMA Chairman and his wife and entertained them with traditional Bangladeshi food.
Exhibits like traditional Nakshikatha, jute and leather products, T-shirts, bangles, sarees, home textiles, ceramic products, earthen ware and different types of food items like tea; coconut oil etc in the Bangladesh Pavilion attracted the dignitaries and the visitors.
