Mirror Desk : Italian Bangladeshi Welfare Association UK organised its inauguration ceremony for newly elected executive committee for 2018-2019 and Eid Mela at Boleyn Banqueting Suite on Sunday 17th June.
The whole day Mela consisted of Free Rides for children, Art Competition, Musical Chairs, Spoon-Marbel run and other indoor sports and stalls of Bangladeshi delicacies. The day also experienced a magic show and cultural performances.
Chief Advisor Habibur Raihan Shahid presided over the meeting and introduced the newly elected executive committee members to the audience. Newly elected President Journalist Rejaul Karim Mridha then invited guests on the stage.
Executive Mayor of Newham Council Rokhsana Fiaz attended the event as Chief Guest. Other special guests were Speaker of Tower Hamlets Ayas Miah, MP for Newham Stephen Tim, Mayor of Barking and Dagenham Sanchia Alasia, Member of Italian Parliament Masimo Unger, Member of Italian Senate Laora Gara Bini, Deputy Speaker of Newham Council Barrister Nazir Ahmed, Doctor Anwar Ali MBE, CEO of Betar Bangla Nazim Chowdhury, Economist Dr Saidur Rahman Lashkar, Cllr Ayesha Chowdhury, Cllr. Joshim Uddin Selim, Cllr. Enamul Haque, Cllr Faruq Ahmed and others.
The newly elected President introduced the new committee by inviting them to stage and started the activities of Mela.
Senior Vice-president Khandakar Kamal Khokon, Organising Secretary Ahmed Mohiuddin Tutul and General Secretary Moniruzzaman Khan Tipu addressed the audience and pointed out few difficulties they are facing which are related to Italian Embassy.
Guests attended the events praised highly of Italian Bangladeshi Association UK and its tireless work for the welfare local Italian Bangladeshis.
