DHAKA, May 27, 2018 : Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today said harmful impacts of tobacco would be incorporated in the textbooks to create awareness against all sorts of tobacco consumption among the students.

“There are huge negative impacts on human health for consumption of tobacco and tobacco products… So, we should educate our students on harmful effects of tobacco from student life,” he told a prize distribution function at the auditorium of CIRDAP here.

PROGGA, a non-government organization and Anti-Tobacco Media Alliance (ATMA), jointly organized the function titled “PROGGA Tobacco Control Journalism Award”.

Founder of National Hurt Foundation of Bangladesh National Professor Brigadier (retd) Abdul Malek, Director General of Directorate General of Health Service Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, Convenor of ATMA Murtuza Haidar Liton and Executive Director of PROGGA ABM Zubayer, among others, addressed the function with journalist Mozammel Hossain in the chair.
