Fenchuganj Education Trust has started its activities officially. To mark this occasion a number of ex-residents of Fenchuganj got together at May Fair venue in East London on Sunday 13 May. At the event, prominent community leader and main architect of the trust Ahmed Us Samad Choudhury JP explained organization’s aims and goals in his opening speech. He also emphasized that this trust will provide English education classes as well as technical education in Fenchuganj as part of its activities.
After the opening speech, Maolana Ruman recited from the Quarn which was followed by a feature film on Fenchuganj.
Barrister Shahidul Islam Sagor, Faruq, Abdul Gani and Rowshan Chowdhury recited poemsa the event and Manikur Rahman Gani performed magic show. The opening ceremony was conducted by Munira Parveen.
Guests who addressed the audience at the event included former Councilor Abu Saleh Saleh, Vice-chair of Bangladesh Centre Muhibur Rahman, Founder Trustee of Fenchganj Enam Islam, Founder Trustee Rejwan Hossain, former General Secretary of BCA M A Munim, Chairman of Luton Baripark Mosque Abul Hossain, former President of BBCC Shahgir Bhakt Faruq and others.
Other architect of the Trust Barrister Nazrul Khasru delivered the closing speech which was followed by the dinner party. There was a music performance after dinner where Gouri Chowdhury, Himangshu Goshwami and other prominent artists performed music.
The speakers emphasized that a number of Non Resident Bangladeshis of Fechugaj origin has already expressed their interest in the organization and the trust has already made 185 NRBs its founder trustees and trustees.
