Launch of Bangabandhu satellite celebrated

Bangladesh is fast moving forward under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina said Parliamentary Panel Speaker Syeda Saira Mohasin MP. She said to realise Bangabandhu’s dream we must strengthen Sheikh Hasina’s hand to build a digital Bangladesh. Proof of digital Bangladesh is that today we own satellite, while many rich countries in the world do not have their own satellites.

 

Today, Bangladesh is the 57th country in the world to own its satellite. Syeda Saira Mohasin MP for Maulvibazar-3 was speaking on the occasion of the successful launch of the Bangabandhu Satellite-1 into space at the Microbusiness Centre, Banglatown on 14th May. She said there is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina’s leadership to take Bangladesh forward. She urged everyone to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections to continue the development trend.

Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is a communications and broadcast satellite. The satellite will provide many benefits including satellite services, expanding internet and telecommunication services in areas where optical cable or submarine cable has not been reached and in particular, effective implementation of tackling and managing natural disasters.

 

Presided over by the President of the Bisshobangla Foundation, Ansar Ahmed Ullah and conducted by Secretary General Shah Mustafizur Rahman Belal other guests were Syeda Sanjida Sharmin, daughter of Syed Mohsin Ali, Organising Secretary of the United Kingdom Awami League, Abdul Ahad Chowdhury, former student leader newly elected Councillor Mujibur Rahman Jasim, former Councillor Rahima Rahman, poet Nazrul Islam Okib, freedom fighter Abul Kashem Khan, London Bangla Press Club President Syed Nahas Pasha, journalist Abu Musa Hassan, journalist Ishaque Kajol, journalist Matiar Chowdhury, journalist Musleh Uddin Ahmed, journalist Hamid Mohammad, journalist Batirul Haque Shordar, journalist Ahad Chowdhury Babu including prominent UK Bengalis in the UK who were  treated to sweets in celebration of successful launch of Bangabandhu satellite.
