Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Award’s (ARTA) nomination part is ending soon. Customers has already submitted 23,000 nominations for their favourite restaurants online
The grand finale of ARTA will take place on 30th September. The colourful event will take place in O2 Intercontinental which has the capacity to hold 2,400 guests at one time.
To introduce this to the journalists and other stakeholders, ARTA organised a press conference on 11 May at the O2 Venue. The organisers also displayed the £50,000 to the invited guests at that time.
Guests who were present at the event included founder of ARTA award M A Munim Salik, Director of Canary Wharf Group and Member of ARTA Zakir Khan, Member of ARTA Steering Committee Rajjak Amin Shahid, Co-founder Qodrul Islam, Sufi Miah and President of London Bangla Press Club Syed Nahash Pasha.
The speakers emphasised that for different reasons and aims, ARTA will establish its place sustainably in the curry industry awards in the UK.
When describing the nomination process, M A Munim Salik said that they will organise 10 different events to nominate 10 regional bests and one regional champion. On the grand finale they will declare ten regional champions along with one National champions of the champions. Gold assembled trophy will cost £50,000. There will also be a Newcomer Award and one Chef of the Year award.
The customer who will take part in the nomination will also get a chance to win a brand new car.
The organisers mentioned that out of 100 marks, 30 will depend on the ratings of Google, Trip Advisor and Council’s food hygiene, 30 will depend on customer nominations and 40 will be associated with cooking. Judges will mainly focus on flavour of the dishes, presentation and aroma.
