10 Bengali councillors elected from Newham

10 councillors of Bangladeshi origin were elected as Councillors in Newham in the local election that took place on 3rd of May.  Labour party candidates in Newham done very well as last time.

Bangladeshi who have been elected in last 3rd May’s election were Ayesha Chowdhury (1717) from Becton, Barrister Najir Ahmed (3039) from Little Illford, Hanif Abdul Muhit (2991) and Mamtaj Khan (2591) from Green Street West, Julifiqar Ali (2737) from Plastow North, Md Abdullah Ali (2973) and Nilufa Jahan (2915), Tahmina Rahman (2510) from Forest Gate south and Enamul Islam (2070) from Forest Gate North.
