The Bangladesh Regeneration Trust UK (BRTUK) is a UK registered charity established to carry out various forms of regeneration work in the areas of education, health & livelihood within Bangladesh.
BRTUK provides a platform for young second, third and fourth generation Bangladeshis to support various social development initiatives across Bangladesh.
Projects focus on the three key areas of development:
o Promoting education
o Creating livelihood schemes
o Supporting healthcare
BRTUK is an NGOAB of Bangladesh, recognised to work with the stricken Rohingya and has been working to support the refugees with primary care and initial emergency survival response. In total more than £25,000 worth of aid has been distributed, and further support is required for ongoing support work.
Chair Nazir Ali commented: “Our short-term challenges are securing corporate funds and improving on branding and marketing.
“In the long-term the status of the Rohingya refugees will be a major challenge for all local and national NGOs.”
During the next financial year, BRTUK intends to be a fully-fledged registered charity in Bangladesh and secure various distribution points across Bangladesh.
